Victor Zelik and his contribution to the fate of contemporary art

This artist himself calls Slavic, but not defining the nationality, but according to the fact of birth and residence in the Ukrainian city of Slavyansk. Today Victor Zelik is proudly honored with the title of recognized master of easel watercolor painting.

The artist graduated from the Kharkov Academy of Design and Arts. And while studying, and throughout the creative path for him, the study of the works of Mikhail Vrubel and Valentin Serov became fundamental in the formation of artistic culture. No less influence on Viktor Zelik was provided by other artists of the expansive association of the end of the XIX century, called "The World of Art". In unison the main idea of this association, the work of Viktor Zelik himself became a way of expressing the personality of the artist.

All of them are well recognizable, they are united by a common theme. A street musician playing the violin, a girl hurrying to the beach, a Jew reading the Talmud, a lonely man under an umbrella. Actually, lonely on the canvases of Victor Zelik are even ships, cats and cars. And the psychological center is always not a person, and not an object, but the city landscape itself.

The artist's fame has long since left his native country. His works are kept not only in the collections of Slavic, Kharkov, Donetsk and Kramatorsk museums, but also occupy a worthy and honorable place in private European and American collections. Some of them became a true poetic inspiration. The painting, which is called "Walk", provoked the poet to write poetry, and "Saxophonist" made the writer write a story. If one creativity generates another, then the world of modern art has no reason to worry about its fate.

Regina Silveira: deeper than the abyss

The true creator always, sooner or later, reaches the recognition of grateful spectators. Almost ten years of research and experiments passed before the path of exploring the perspective led the artist Regina Silveira to international recognition. Slightly disturbed by the rapid glory of the ideological problems prevailing in Brazil, but the cosmopolitanism of the multi-media artist has won. Initially, she was an engraver and designer, who fully focused on the processes of reproducing graphic images using silkscreen. Today, the artist's work exploits video art, which links the conceptual elements into endless projections.

Geometric figures do not just excite space, they seem to create a new - unknown, and belonging only to them. The viewer, examining them, falls into a special illusory installation.

The project is called "Abyssal" and is designed to reflect the image of the abyss, which, as you know, is not just very deep, but bottomless. The figure of a person on its background becomes a tiny particle of the whole universe. It should be especially noted - almost all designs consist of simple geometric lines, similar to elongated windows. And the effect is staggering: the feeling is not just a qualitative illusion, but real magic.

Alexander Khodyukov about life as an art

Alexander Khodyukov was born in the glorious Belarusian city of Vitebsk, where he still successfully lives and works. His work, literally, is boundless, if we talk about styles, techniques and subjects. It seems that he does not choose the way of writing each canvas, but the plot he depicts. For example, a picture depicting a girl on a summer, flowering meadow full of her beauty, blush and red poppies to the brim, Alexander Khodyukov will create in the style of impressionism. For a quiet autumn landscape, reflecting the autumn forest, idealism is ideal. And all the colors of the early, spring morning, which has just bloomed, because the sun has risen, he will find in modern. If you tell about the subjects separately, then they are more than diverse: still lifes, sea views, landscapes, portraits, magical and surreal worlds, unpredictable fantasy and over-intuitive nu. Used paints also in a wide palette: both oil, and watercolor, and acrylic.

Saturation and richness of the color scale are present in all his works, and brightly convey the optimism and energy of the artist. Modern art critics see in his works, created in a realistic manner, much in common with the works of the legendary Tom Hanks. It is about the same style, which in modern art is already called "emotional realism." This very art comes from a clear inner feeling and a sense of the right direction. This style is born by rethinking your own life, finding the sources of its impulses and unraveling its secrets. That's all the reasons for the similarity - only in the method used, nothing more.
